Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Chris Goetz, R.L.S., has joined the firm as survey manager. He brings nearly 15 years of extensive land surveying experience across the state of Tennessee and has provided boundary, topographic, title and construction staking surveys for numerous infill developments and subdivisions. As the leader of Gresham Smith’s survey team, Goetz will focus on growing the department while implementing technologies that elevate the client experience.

“One detail can make or break a project, which is why collecting site information quickly and accurately is key to success. As geospatial technology advances, we have an opportunity to build upon our tried-and-true methods by implementing new tools and techniques that allow us to serve clients better, safer and faster,” said Goetz. “I’m excited to join Gresham Smith and look forward to the ways we’ll add to our toolkit and continue to raise the bar on client service.”

“Chris’ enthusiasm and expertise will help us navigate the unique challenges of every plot of land, ultimately providing our clients with a comprehensive roadmap for large and small-scale projects,” said Jessica Lucyshyn, P.E., executive vice president and market vice president, Gresham Smith. “I look forward to seeing the ways Chris will push our survey practice forward while developing our professionals and I’m proud to welcome him to the team.”

A registered land surveyor and licensed drone pilot, Chris joins Gresham Smith from Dale and Associates where he led the firm’s survey team. A graduate of the University of Tennessee’s School of Forestry, he spent the first years of his career managing 37,000 acres of public forest before discovering his passion for surveying. His experience in both the public and private sector adds to his diverse background, which is rooted in his love of the outdoors. Outside of the office Chris serves as the president of the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors.
