NASBA Corporate Headquarters

The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) is dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of the country’s 55 state boards of accountancy and helping accounting practitioners to address issues relevant to the profession. The organization desired to modernize its downtown Nashville headquarters located in the One Nashville Place building. GS&P was selected to provide interior design and environmental graphic design services for the 39,300-square-foot, two-story renovation, with the goal of creating a new work environment that supports the client’s long-term vision and mission.

To promote a spirit of trust and transparency among co-workers, GS&P designers introduced glass at virtually every walled space to open up the workplace. To maximize daylight and increase visibility, all-glass offices and meeting rooms were pushed primarily to the interior of the building. Low panels between work stations were also used to bring natural light into the space. A modern color palette and eye-catching graphics introduce a brand-new energy to the work environment, while small enclaves and phone rooms sprinkled throughout provide areas for impromptu meetings and phone calls.
Situated on the seventh floor at the top of the monumental stair, an open area outside of shared conference room space offers a place for employees to gather for pre- or post-function interaction. A large, café-style break area was also designed on the seventh floor, which features an expansive communal picnic table that serves as a centerpiece while emphasizing the client’s goal of fostering a collaborative team environment. A more intimate banquette space provides a quieter area for employees to eat their lunch.
Unifying NASBA employees, GS&P’s design creates a vibrant and energetic environment that enhances staff collaboration, increases efficiencies and allows for future growth within the organization. Since moving into the space, employees report they’re enjoying a newfound camaraderie with co-workers thanks to the ample open and closed collaborative work areas, and the variety of options for formal meetings, casual gatherings and dining.
