Reinventing the Way We Deliver

The design industry is evolving, and Gresham Smith is leading the way by fostering a culture and an environment where our staff are encouraged to bring innovative new ideas to our clients. No longer just a design firm, we’re taking a technology-driven approach to invest in new tools and services that reinvent the way we deliver high-quality solutions for our clients.

Studio-X

To respond to the challenges our industry faces and strengthen our practice, we’ve created our own Innovation Incubator, which we’re calling Studio-X. It provides staff at all levels with elbow room, financial support and mentoring expertise to develop new products or services that can change the way we do things in each of our markets and disciplines.

MPATH

Our Studio-X initiative is producing results, one of which is MPATH, a revolutionary, patented approach that quantifies how people experience places, providing invaluable insights to planners, designers, and stakeholders on user-centric design responses. MPATH effectively measures the levels of comfort and stress experienced by users and enables the identification of critical pain-points, which are often indicative of confusion or potential safety issues.

Futures Lab

Our Futures Lab initiative serves as a key knowledge-sharing resource for the entire firm to use that has insights on specific domains that we see driving disruption and innovation. We use this knowledge to help the firm get ahead of industry and technology-driven trends in order to shape strategic thinking about the future of our practice.

Practice Technology

Whether it’s helping us to create new efficiencies or automate the design process, our practice technology group serves as a resource to elevate our firm’s delivery of services.

Hacker League

To continue to elevate our digital skills and foster curiosity among our staff, we’ve established our own Hacker League that meets regularly and even holds an annual hackathon. Our mission is to build community among peers and across disciplines, markets and geographic locations. Staff from across the firm are encouraged to participate in what we see as a social sandbox for sharing personal passions around technology and digital issues.
