From Farm to Table to Building Healthy Developments across the Region

Tour led by Executive Vice President Steve Johnson, AIA

Although Nashville is renowned as a music mecca and tourist destination, the city’s largest industry is health care. Nashville is home to more than 300 health care companies contributing tens of billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of jobs to the economy.

Likewise, Nashville continues to expand ways for people to live healthier lives. In addition to other healthy places across the region, this tour will showcase the Gresham Smith-designed Vanderbilt Medical Center at 100 Oaks Mall, a dead mall remade as a mixed-use project.

Nashville’s Journey to Affordable Living

Tour led by Senior Architect Patrick Gilbert, AIA, LEED AP

Like many communities across the country, Nashville is challenged by a shortage of adequate affordable housing for its residents and attainable commercial space for its entrepreneurs and artists. Nashville is employing its collegial spirit in working to address this public priority and private development challenge. This tour will offer the opportunity to visit places deploying Nashville’s forward-thinking solutions.

Acres and Acres of Downtown Developments: Big Changes Ahead in Nashville’s CBD

Tour led by Senior Architect Joe Bucher, AIA

Mixed uses, urban green space, high-tech tenants and important entertainment venues are just some of the features that make up Nashville’s multi-acre projects, adding millions of square feet of new development in the city’s core. This tour will provide an insider’s look at the big changes underway in Nashville. Gresham Smith’s Joe Bucher will lead participants on tours of 222 Second Avenue South, Fifth + Broadway, Nashville Yards, Capitol View and Highwoods Gulch Holdings.

Sleep Chic: Nashville’s Boutique Hotel boom

Tour led by Senior Architect Patrick Gilbert, AIA, LEED AP, and Hospitality Design Leader Valli Wiggins, RID, LEED AP ID+C

Nashville’s regular presence on various “top city” lists translates into ever-increasing tourism. From a hotel with a curated art museum and one with a 1956 Scenicruiser bus in the rooftop lounge, Patrick Gilbert and Valli Wiggins will help showcase a handful of these compelling properties.
