Transportation Demand Management (TDM): Enhancing Performance Across North Carolina
Panel discussion by Gresham Smith’s Sean Flaherty, NCDOT’s Jason Wimmer, Peer Panel Member Nicholas Ramfos, and Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation’s Sabrina Glenn

In 2018, Gresham Smith worked with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to update of the statewide Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan and suggested improvements to the state’s existing program efforts. This panel discussion will summarize the process for planning and implementing the statewide TDM plan. Representatives of the key entities and TDM service providers will discuss current efforts and opportunities for encouraging alternative modes of transportation, including ShareTheRideNC, employer recognition programs, highway construction mitigation, regional coordination, innovative funding sources, and methods for communicating the benefits of alternative modes in more meaningful ways.
