Brett Hart Joins Gresham Smith’s Building Engineering Team

November 18, 2021

Gresham Smith is excited to welcome Brett Hart, P.E., S.E., PEng, to the firm’s Building Engineering market as a senior structural engineer. Based out of Gresham Smith’s Nashville office, Brett brings more than 25 years of experience in project management and business development. Utilizing his expertise working with contractors in the field at project sites, he will focus on advancing the firm’s design and build operations at airports.

Brett has professional licensure in 25 states and two Canadian provinces, and has been working for full-service architecture and engineering firms since the first day of his career. Before joining Gresham Smith, he was responsible for drawing and calculating steel frame projects for sites across the entire nation. As someone who has great appreciation for company culture, he is ready to train the next generation of structural engineers, identify new revenue streams for the firm, and find successful solutions to any obstacles that arise.

While Brett has overseen countless projects from initial design to final completion, his contributions to the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, California, where Wounded Warriors go to heal, are what he is most proud of.

“As our market continues to expand and the demand for our services continues to increase, Brett will no doubt become an integral, and vital, member of our team,” said Market Vice President Bryan Tharpe, P.E. “With his specialized skillset working with contractors, and his ability to contribute remotely from the project sites, we will be able to better deliver for our clients. We are very excited to have him on board and contributing to our projects.”

Brett enjoys bringing the built environment to life through architectural vision, and including a multitude of viewpoints to achieve the full potential of a space. With ever-changing building codes and the continuous improvement of materials that can be used in construction, developing custom tools for contractors that improve quality and efficiency remain at the top of his priority list for every project.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, being outdoors, playing the arcade game Golden Tee, and watching movies – both classics and new releases. He is also a Jeep Wrangler enthusiast and a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
