Gresham Smith’s Michele McMinn Named a Nashville Business Journal’s Women of Influence
Gresham Smith is excited to announce that Life and Work Places Studio Design Leader Michelle McMinn has been named one of the Nashville Business Journal’s 2024 Women of Influence. The annual award recognizes women in Middle Tennessee who are shaping their companies, improving the city’s business community and paving the way for the next generation of influential female leaders.
“I’m thrilled to see Michele recognized for her impact at our firm and in the local community,” said Rodney Chester, CEO and board chair of Gresham Smith. “More than just a studio leader with an eye for excellent design, Michele cares deeply about the impact her work has on people and the environment.”
As studio design leader, Michele has designed approximately 4 million square feet of space in Nashville and contributed to some of the largest developments in the city. Throughout her career, her primary focus has been on sustainability and wellness in the workplace. With her leadership, Gresham Smith was the first firm in Nashville to implement the Mindful Materials labeling system, which allows designers to better understand the impacts of building materials.
A Nashville resident since 2012, Michele has worked on several community projects, including designing the home of the Nashville Food Project, where she also volunteers prepping food for meals to help alleviate hunger in our city. In addition, she’s an active member of the parent council at St. Paul Christian Academy, where she helps coordinate the parent education series. She also volunteers and serves as co-chair for a fundraising program at Harpeth Hall School.
