Gresham Smith Named a Best Place to Work in Tampa
Gresham Smith has been named one of Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2020 Best Places to Work. Honored in the “large” workplace category, the recognition was based on feedback received from the firm’s more than 70 Tampa employees when asked questions in several categories, including the firm’s culture, team effectiveness and trust in senior leadership. Staff will celebrate the recognition at Tampa Bay’s largest company picnic at George M. Steinbrenner Field on May 1.
“We have a special company culture at Gresham Smith and we’re honored that the Tampa Bay Business Journal has recognized the genuine care we see from our staff members day-in and day-out,” said Gresham Smith Chairman and CEO Al Pramuk. “We know that the success of our projects stems from the success of our people, which is why we’re committed to creating a workplace where our employees feel supported both personally and professionally.”
Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Gresham Smith has had a presence in Tampa since 1997. Locally, the team specializes in providing architecture, engineering and interior design services for aviation, corporate, healthcare, transportation and water clients. Recent local projects include the automated people mover and rental car center at Tampa International Airport, legal giant Baker McKenzie’s Global Center, Tampa General Hospital’s Brandon Healthplex and the Florida Department of Transportation’s District 2 roadway lighting program. In addition to their involvement with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the office also partners with the Tampa Downtown Partnership, United Way Suncoast, Bike/Walk Tampa Bay, Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay and A Brighter Community to give back to their city.
This award joins a growing list of accolades for the firm’s Tampa team. The office topped Tampa Bay Business Journal’s list of largest architecture firms in 2019 and in 2018 Florida Trend dubbed Gresham Smith a “Best Company to Work For In Florida.” The firm’s workplace and culture has also been recognized by additional publications, including Baton Rouge Business Report, Charlotte Business Journal, Nashville Business Journal and Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
