Gresham Smith Recognized as Sustainability Partner Champion by City of Phoenix Aviation Department

Advancing Sustainable Aviation Through Long‑Standing Partnership and Expertise

Gresham Smith has been awarded the inaugural Phoenix Aviation Department Business Champion Recognition Award in the category of Sustainability Partner Champion. The honor acknowledges the firm’s pivotal role in advancing environmental stewardship through the development and ongoing implementation of the City of Phoenix Aviation Department’s Sustainability Management Plan (SMP).

The firm supports sustainability initiatives across Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Deer Valley Airport, and Phoenix Goodyear Airport. Through the SMP and continued sustainability and environmental compliance services, Gresham Smith is helping drive long‑term improvements that elevate the standard for sustainable aviation.

In recognition of the firm’s expertise and longstanding partnership, the Aviation Department recently requested that Gresham Smith augment its internal sustainability staff. Working alongside Department employees, the firm continues to help advance key environmental goals and strengthen the airports’ commitment to responsible operations.

The award was presented at the 2026 Aviation Business Summit, hosted by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department. The annual in‑person event provides businesses with opportunities to learn, network, and explore tools for doing business with Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports. The Summit features informative sessions, panel discussions, and direct engagement with City staff, community partners, and industry peers.
