Dallas City Council Adopts Gresham Smith-Designed 2025 Dallas Bike Plan

Plan Sets Targets for Growing City’s Bike Network

The Dallas City Council recently adopted the 2025 Dallas Bike Plan, developed by Gresham Smith. The updated plan sets goals for growing the city’s bike network, with a strong emphasis on safety, comfort, and maintenance.

First developed in 1975 and last updated in 2011, the Dallas Bike Plan has served as the City’s guide for implementing a system of on-street and off-street bike lanes and infrastructure. The newly approved update, formally adopted on May 28, expands upon the existing network and is focused on creating a system that encourages bicycling for people of all ages and abilities throughout Dallas.
