Santosh Gunavante Joins Gresham Smith’s Water + Environment Market in Dallas 

New Senior Engineer Brings Decades of Water Infrastructure Experience to the Firm’s Growing Presence in Texas

Gresham Smith is pleased to welcome Santosh Gunavante, P.E., to the firm’s Water + Environment market as a senior engineer based in our Dallas office. He will play a critical role in overseeing and leading key phases of the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment systems. 

“Santosh brings a unique combination of technical depth and leadership acumen to our growing Dallas team,” said Vice President Tim O’Brien, P.E., ENV SP. “His long-standing track record in delivering infrastructure solutions with creativity and precision aligns with the values that drive our practice.” 

Gunavante brings nearly 30 years of civil and environmental engineering experience spanning public and private sectors, leadership roles, and diverse water and wastewater infrastructure initiatives. His expertise includes planning, design, project management, construction support and regulatory compliance in both new construction and system upgrade environments. 

Most recently, Gunavante served as a design leader and managed a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to deliver a broad range of water resources projects. In addition to completing complex designs, he was actively involved in client engagement, proposal development and mentoring junior engineers to help build a high-performing team. 

 “I look forward to combining technical leadership with business development to create impactful solutions for the communities we serve,” said Gunavante. “In this role, I aim to help design solutions for essential water infrastructure, while also mentoring junior staff within a culture that prioritizes professional growth and innovation.” 

Gunavante holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Karnataka University and a Master of Science in civil engineering with a focus on environmental science from Widener University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Texas and Delaware; he is alsoactively involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Water Environment Association of Texas.
