Our multi-disciplinary team guided this Nashville-based financial institution through a comprehensive transformation of its longtime headquarters, helping the organization move beyond a series of incremental upgrades toward a workplace aligned with its evolving culture, growth, and post-pandemic needs. Through a collaborative workplace strategy and design process, we addressed aging infrastructure and introduced a variety of design solutions to strengthen connection, collaboration, and employee engagement.

We recommended flexible work settings, amenity-rich social hubs, improved vertical circulation, and a hospitality-driven arrival experience to make the building more welcoming and intuitive. Integrated brand storytelling and ongoing building systems commissioning further enhanced organizational identity, sustainability, and operational performance. The result is a distinctive, future-ready headquarters that supports employees, welcomes visitors, and builds stronger connections with the broader community.

Designing for Collaboration and Choice

Throughout the workplace, social hubs with dining, coffee, gaming and conferencing spaces provide opportunities to connect. A dedicated work-amenity floor supplies a range of flexible settings, from breakout areas, an IT Genius Bar and a content studio to quiet zones for focused work. Connectivity between groups on different teams was greatly improved by adding a monumental, multi-floor stair linking a series of social spaces, as well as renovating an existing stair between several lower floors.

Strengthening Workplace Connectivity

Reducing friction for employees was an important consideration as the design team examined how the building was re-imagined. The arrival experience was rethought, shifting from a fortress-like security model to a hospitality-driven approach with transparent badge-access points and concierge-style staffing. Brand storytelling is woven throughout the space, subtly and boldly, so the workplace feels unmistakably tailored to who the organization is and what they do.

These changes, along with ongoing building-systems commissioning to improve performance, sustainability and operational efficiency, have created a future-ready headquarters for employees, visitors and the broader community.
