Gresham Smith is excited to announce that Sage Case, NCIDQ, WELL AP, LEED AP ID+C, has joined as a Senior Interior Designer in its Life + Work Places market in the firm’s Denver office. With more than three decades of experience across workplace, higher education, civic, museum, hospitality, retail and residential design, Sage brings a broad perspective and a passion for creating thoughtful, sustainable environments that support people and strengthen communities.

Before joining Gresham Smith, Sage served as an Interior Design Studio Principal at studiotrope Design Collective, where she led projects from early visioning through implementation. Her responsibilities included defining project direction through conversation and collaboration, guiding design teams, supporting business development and marketing, and developing the firm’s presence in the libraries, higher education and workplace sectors. She championed a collaborative studio culture and led the firm’s sustainability task force.
Sage’s work emphasizes the relationship between workplace design and organizational culture, helping clients navigate how and where people work, whether in person, remotely or through hybrid models, to attract and retain talent. Her project experience includes workplace planning and design, civic and library projects, higher education facilities, hospitality environments, museums, restaurants, retail and high-end residential interiors. She draws from this broad toolkit to serve a variety of clients across the private and public sectors.
Her recent workplace experience includes leading the 12-story restack and consolidation of a City and County of Denver office building, as well as a needs assessment, design guidelines and space-planning master plan for the Denver International Airport, including a 44,000-square-foot workplace renovation and tenant improvement.
Her library and higher education portfolio include projects for the Arapahoe Library District, Boulder Public Library, Denver Public Library, Douglas County Libraries, Eagle Valley Library District, High Plains Library District and Summit County Library District. She also has experience with complex campus programming and a three-building residence hall project for Colorado State University.

Sage earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. She is NCIDQ certified and holds WELL AP and LEED AP ID+C credentials. She continues her professional education and involvement through organizations including USGBC, CREW Denver, and IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter.
