Gresham Smith is excited to announce that its Jacksonville office has moved into a new centrally-located space at 1 Independent Drive. The investment in a new office speaks to Gresham Smith’s commitment to continue expanding in Northeast Florida. Gresham Smith’s Jacksonville office first opened in 1989.
“Gresham Smith has been part of the Jacksonville community for more than 35 years, and this move marks an exciting chapter for our team,” said Rodney Chester, CEO and Board Chair of Gresham Smith. “Our continued investment in Jacksonville reflects the strength of our local relationships and our commitment to supporting the region’s growth through innovative design and solutions.”
Gresham Smith’s Jacksonville professionals support transportation and healthcare clients throughout Northeast Florida by providing tailored architecture, interior design and engineering services. Recent projects across the firm’s Health market include UF Health Durbin Park health and wellness campus, and Baptist SilverLeaf Medical Campus. The Transportation market has led work for the Shark Channel Bridge rehabilitation, FDOT State Safety Office, and FDOT D2 A1A trails.
“Our new space gives our teams the flexibility, resources and collaborative environment they need to work effectively together and deliver thoughtful, client-focused solutions,” said Carolyn Blake, IIDA, EDAC, LEED AP, Jacksonville Office Leader and Health Technical Practice Leader. “It also creates an environment that strengthens connections, supports well-being and helps our people feel energized and engaged in their work.”
A centerpiece of the office’s design is a mural that draws inspiration from the city’s distinctive character, and features the region’s riverways, oak canopies, and bridges as a nod to the city’s skyline and natural landscape.
