Gresham Smith’s Tennessee Water + Environment team recently collaborated with the City of Springfield to examine and design enhancements to the public sewer system. The firm helped to complete seven sewer system rehabilitation projects related to wastewater collection and transmission, which increase conveyance capacity and add storage during times of peak flow. In total, the firm rehabilitated 52 miles of sewer line, constructed two new storage tanks and improved 1,000 manholes. Gresham Smith Water + Environment Vice President Ken Stewart, P.E., and Senior Environmental Engineers Amanda Dobbs, P.E. and Mike Burgett, P.E. discussed the project in Tennessee Public Works Magazine’s September/October issue.
