The site itself was one of our team’s biggest challenges. The property, which had been purchased before we came on board, was a tight squeeze for the space that ICI needed. Due to the site’s limits, there was no room to meet the City of South Miami’s parking requirements. Our solution? Place parking on the second, third and fourth floors and turn the access ramp into an architectural feature.
Our eye-catching design was inspired by the power of the Center’s state-of-the-art technology. On the exterior our team used modern metal panels and a smooth white stucco finish, while inside we used aluminum classing, decorative metal screens, translucent glazing, glass and warm wood tones to create a comfortable, clutter-free space that alleviates stress.
We were also able to maximize space by working with Veritas Medical Solutions to plan for radiation -shielded treatment vaults constructed with VeriShieldTM modular blocks – a space-saving alternative to solid concrete materials. Inside the treatment vaults are some of the world’s most advanced radiotherapy and radiosurgery technologies.
