Redefining Recreation in Murfreesboro

With a focus on providing greenspace and trails for the community, Gresham Smith developed a park master plan for an 85-acre park as well as plans for an additional 45-acres to be utilized for future public safety and support facilities for the Blackman Community, situated about 30 miles south of Nashville on the west side of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The team assessed the property’s infrastructure needs and future uses and began development of a commercial yield study for a portion of the property located along Veterans Parkway. The team also studied vehicular and pedestrian access points to determine critical connections to the surrounding neighborhoods. An ecological assessment was completed to identify environmentally sensitive areas and habitats located within the property boundaries.
