A Thoughtful Investment in Growth
The facility represents a strategic investment in community-focused healthcare. By selecting a freestanding site in a developing area, Kaiser Permanente created a space that not only meets the immediate needs of its members but is also positioned for future expansion as Pueblo continues to grow. While identifying a suitable site proved challenging—requiring several location changes due to topography and development constraints—the final site strikes a balance between accessibility today and scalability for tomorrow.

Blending Standards with Regional Character
Designed according to Kaiser Permanente’s national facility standards, the building blends forward-focused functionality with a welcoming aesthetic. The architecture and interiors reflect the warmth of the region, featuring abundant natural light, connections to outdoor areas, and calming materials that support well-being. Framed artwork curated by a local art dealer brings community identity indoors, celebrating local artists and further rooting the clinic in the culture of Pueblo.

Comprehensive Services Under One Roof
Inside, patients can access a wide range of services including primary care, dermatology, imaging, laboratory services, and a full-service retail pharmacy. The efficient floor plan includes 13 exam rooms and supports enhanced clinical workflows designed to improve the staff and patient experience alike. Staff benefit from dedicated workspace and lounge areas that promote collaboration and recharge. Outdoor seating offers both staff and visitors a peaceful place to step away and enjoy the Colorado landscape.

Sustainability at the Forefront
The new medical office building also integrates sustainable features that align with Kaiser Permanente’s environmental stewardship goals. Accommodations for a solar canopy above the parking lot provides the opportunity to generate renewable energy for the clinic while offering shade for cars in the future. Three electric vehicle charging stations promote lower emissions, and the project includes 75 total parking spaces—eight of them accessible. Interior materials and casework were sourced through Kaiser Permanente’s in-house manufacturer, supporting standardization, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

Setting a New Standard in Pueblo
With its smart growth strategy, community-focused design, and flexible operational layout, the KP Pueblo North Medical Office Building sets a new standard for accessible, high-quality ambulatory care in a rapidly growing region.
