Gresham Smith is pleased to announce that Junill Wui, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been named Office Leader for the firm’s Chicago location. As Office Leader, Wui will focus on expanding the firm’s regional impact through enhanced business and community relationships and fostering a supportive, high-performing team environment. He will also play a central role in professional development, operational effectiveness and continued design excellence.

Wui joined Gresham Smith in 2023 and serves as a Senior Architect in the firm’s Industrial market, focusing on design solutions for various types of manufacturing facilities. As a bilingual professional with hands-on experience in electric vehicle battery facility design, he has played a key role in Gresham Smith-designed projects for top-tier battery technology and automotive companies like LG Energy Solution, General Motors, Hyundai and Stellantis. Wui has also worked on airports, transit stations, civic buildings, higher education campuses and complex industrial environments over the course of his 27-year career.

In addition to his design leadership, Wui is dedicated to education and mentorship. As an adjunct faculty member at Harold Washington College, he teaches design studios and helps inspire the next generation of architects. Wui holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, is a licensed architect in Illinois, and is a LEED Accredited Professional with a specialization in Building Design + Construction.
