Gresham Smith Announces Recipients of the Second Annual Intern Housing Grant

Program Supports Firm’s Commitment to DEIB

Gresham Smith is pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s summer intern housing grant. Now in its second year, the program originated out of Gresham Smith’s IMAGE (Inclusive Multiculturalism For Advancement, Growth & Equity) Employee Resource Network as a way to support students and assist with minimizing the financial burdens that may arise when participating in summer internships.

“Relocation and housing costs can often be a barrier when gaining access to internship experiences, especially for underrepresented groups,” said Chief Development and Engagement Officer Kelly Knight Hodges. “We are committed to building relationships with a wider and more diverse talent pool and will continue to look for opportunities to eliminate barriers to inclusion in our Firm.”

The annual program provides up to four recipients with a housing grant to assist with moving and rental expenses during their summer internship with Gresham Smith. This year’s grantees are as followed:

  • Jade Mackey, Aviation Student Intern, Hampton University
  • Sree Bendalam, Aviation Student Intern, University of Illinois
  • Abimbola Ogungbire, Transportation Student Intern, University of North Carolina
  • Alberto Navarro, Industrial Student Intern, Lawrence Technological University
