Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Louis Johnson, PLA, ASLA, will speak at the American Society for Landscape Architects 2022 Conference on Landscape Architecture in San Francisco, California. On Saturday, Nov. 12, Johnson will share strategies for building a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in both office culture and project delivery.

Faced with the complex challenges of addressing systemic discrimination, climate change, wealth disparities and more, designers must view their studios, design approaches and engagements through lenses of diversity, equity and inclusion. This presentation will discuss different approaches for recruiting and retaining a diverse staff; DEIB-focused teaming strategies to expand ‘who is at the table’; how to bridge socio-cultural divides and deliver equitable outcomes; and lessons learned through implemented design and planning processes.
