Amy Hardin Named to Nashville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 List
Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Amy Hardin, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, a senior project manager and senior architect in the firm’s Life and Work Places market, has been named to the Nashville Business Journal’s 2024 “40 Under 40” list. The 40 Under 40 Award recognizes young professionals who are shaping the future of Nashville business.
“Amy is well-deserving for this award, specifically for her dedication to civic engagement, proactive leadership and industry involvement,” said Rodney Chester, CEO and board chair of Gresham Smith. “I’ve had the privilege to witness Amy’s growth and influence as an emerging leader in the firm and look forward to seeing her continue to excel.”
In her 15 years of experience, Hardin has significantly contributed to the evolving landscape of Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Recently, she graduated from the Metro Historical Commission’s inaugural Citizen Historical Preservation Academy. At Gresham Smith, her expertise extends beyond historic preservation. Hardin excels in developing work plans, managing project components and exceeding client expectations. Her recent experience includes projects for the Williamson County Government, the historic 211 Commerce and Nashville Yards. Additionally, Hardin spearheads the firm’s PARK(ing) Day design, contributing to Nashville’s conversation of creating more urban open space with a unique ‘parklet’.
Beyond her role at Gresham Smith, she holds a position on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Middle Tennessee’s Board of Directors and the Government Relations committee. Recently, she volunteered at two Mayoral Forums with AIA Middle Tennessee. She also initiated a podcast, ‘Re:Form Tennessee’, spotlighting community resilience, featured during Nashville Design Week. Hardin remains a vital part of Nashville Design Week, orchestrating a multidisciplinary design workshop during the 2023 event. She is active in flood resilience in Tennessee, advocating for new legislation with Protect Tennessee while serving as a volunteer. Passionate about historic preservation, Hardin has contributed to the rescue of several buildings, including a ‘Nashville Nine’ listed by Historic Nashville Inc.
