John Jurewicz Joins Gresham Smith as Industrial Innovation Leader

Gresham Smith is pleased to announce that John Jurewicz, AIA, LEED AP, has joined the firm as the Industrial Innovation Leader based in our Southfield, Michigan office.

With 35 years of experience leading the implementation of technology for large scale projects and industrial campus upgrades, Jurewicz brings a wealth of expertise to the firm’s rapidly growing Industrial team. His accomplishments include implementing tech that integrates personnel sensors to monitor productivity and Bluetooth technology tracking at multiple facilities, coordinating infrastructure needs for new central utility plants, and leading the development of intelligent modeling used for infrastructure upgrades. Most recently, he served as technology leader for two major campus overhauls for Ford’s Dearborn Research Campus and General Motors’ Warren Technical Center.

Jurewicz brings a diverse portfolio of clients from across various sectors including advanced manufacturing, automotive, energy and mission critical data centers. He has a track record of implementing sensor technologies to prevent equipment on equipment strikes and to track the use of building inventory. He has specific experience with digital ceiling technology, integration of sensors with applications to control lighting, shades, energy usage and fresh air together with occupant presence.

In his new role, Jurewicz will be responsible for leading the market’s innovation initiative by developing new ways of more effectively delivering services to clients. He will help develop new tools and services that deliver technology-driven solutions that integrate design with digital modeling that allow clients to develop and manage smarter buildings and campuses.
