Gresham Smith Names Rebecca Murray Baton Rouge Office Leader

Transportation Leader to Support Regional Growth and Team Development

Gresham Smith is pleased to announce that Rebecca Murray, P.E., PTOE, RSP1, has been named the new Office Leader for the firm’s Baton Rouge location. A transportation leader focused on traffic operations and roadway safety, Murray brings a strong record of technical excellence, stakeholder collaboration, and mentorship that will help advance the firm’s continued growth in the region.

Her commitment to developing others will strengthen our team and expand our impact across Louisiana as well.”

Murray joined Gresham Smith in 2015 and serves as a Project Manager in the firm’s Transportation market. She leads complex traffic operations and roadway safety projects, combining stakeholder engagement and data analytics to inform design decisions. Her experience includes managing projects for East Baton Rouge Parish’s MOVEBR program, such as the Sherwood Forest Boulevard Multi-Use Path Improvement project, and leading traffic and safety efforts for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) statewide, from corridor studies to district-wide traffic signal upgrades. In recognition of her expertise, she was recently named to Roads & Bridges’ inaugural Top 25 Under 40 list

In her Office Leader role, Murray will focus on strengthening regional business and community relationships while fostering a collaborative, high-performing office culture. She will support professional development efforts, help advance operational effectiveness, and champion continued design excellence as the Baton Rouge team delivers work that improves communities across the region.

Murray earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Louisiana State University and holds a Louisiana Professional Engineer license, along with advanced credentials including Professional Traffic Operations Engineer and Road Safety Professional Level 1 certification. She is a founding member of Louisiana’s Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) chapter, a past President of the WTS Greater Baton Rouge chapter, and a 2024 local committee chair supporting the WTS Annual Conference in New Orleans. She also contributes to ITE scholarship efforts benefiting students in Louisiana and Mississippi.
