Gresham Smith is excited to announce that DJ Brouwer, P.E., CFM, has joined the firm as a Senior Project Manager in the Water + Environment market. Brouwer brings more than four decades of experience delivering civil engineering solutions across municipal water and wastewater, transportation and site development. Based in the firm’s Dallas office, he will support planning, design and project delivery for infrastructure programs that strengthen communities in Texas.
“DJ brings a valuable blend of technical depth and hands-on leadership across municipal water, wastewater, and floodplain-focused projects,” said Water + Environment Executive Vice President Dale Jones. “As we continue to grow our presence in Texas, adding DJ’s expertise strengthens our ability to better serve clients with responsive local leadership and proven delivery. He will certainly be an immediate asset to our teams and to the communities we support across the region.”
Most recently, Brouwer served as a Senior Project Manager at Mead & Hunt. Over the course of his career, he has managed and supported projects ranging from lift station upgrades and force main improvements to wastewater treatment planning and expansion studies, water storage and pumping improvements, drainage and paving programs, and site design for both public- and private-sector clients.

Brouwer is a licensed professional engineer in Texas, California and Ohio and is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in engineering science from Hope College and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Washington University.
