Hospital pharmacies are entering a new era of transformation that is reshaping how medications are prepared, managed and delivered. As therapies grow more complex and personalized, Healthcare Senior Architect Rob Hamby, AIA, NCARB, EDAC offers insight in a recent issue of Medical Construction & Design magazine, outlining why pharmacy planning and design must evolve at the same pace as modern care.
Hamby highlights how evidence-based design and LEAN workflow optimization are becoming essential to creating safer, more efficient and more resilient pharmacy environments. He also points to the growing role of artificial intelligence as a support tool that can streamline operations, enhance decision-making and free pharmacists to focus on clinical responsibilities.
